After seven years in telecommunications industry, Sinead O’Sullivan is known today as a founder of the Qtelmedia Group – the Ireland-based content network company and innovator of live television to mobile.
Headquartered in Dublin, Qtelmedia has recently expanded into Asia, choosing Malaysia as its base. “Our biggest investments are in Malaysia…it’s our core central hub,” acknowledges Sinead. “We went through extensive due diligence before deciding which country in the region would be best for Qtelmedia’s Asian expansion plans. We thought of Singapore and Hong Kong for sure, but ultimately chose Malaysia for many reasons, particularly for the support we receive from the government, our Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) company status, which we are so delighted with, as well as the support of the MDeC, the Multimedia Development Corporation.

“From an investor’s perspective, we had to be sure we could get the results we wanted so as to be able to invest further.” Having already invested an eight-figure amount in its Malaysian operations since March 2006, Sinead says Qtelmedia has plans to double the figure this year. “Subject to operator contracts, of course,” she adds.
“The indications are already very strong that we are bang on target!”
