It was an afternoon not
to be missed as The Peak and Legacy
hosted an afternoon tea for 40 chic ladies recently
at The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur. The event’s highlights
included an enlightening presentation by Legacy’s Mei
Choong, exclusive viewings of its fine Herend and Lladro porcelain
collections, as well as an entertaining talk on social graces by
etiquette guru Datin T D Ampikaipakan. The ladies were also treated
to neck and shoulder massages by therapists from the Spa
Village at The Ritz-Carlton Residences, and everyone went home
happy with door gifts of a Bohemia crystal candle holder and
vouchers from Legacy and the Spa Village.

Diplomatic Dash
An evening of fine food, wines and cigars, as well as
a traditional German Lieder performance made an evening
at the German Ambassador’s residence truly a night
to remember. The splendid residence of German Ambassador,
HE Herbert D Jess and his gracious wife, Micheline, along
Jalan Kia Peng was the venue for a special dinner party
held in conjunction with The Peak’s Ambassador Dinner
Series. Champagne and canapés set the mood for the
evening while the menu featured an array of delicacies
prepared by Chef Hans J Kahrs of the Hilton Petaling Jaya
matched with a selection of German wines personally chosen
by His Excellency. After dinner, the guests were
delighted to be treated to a traditional Lieder performance
by tenor Timothy Ooi of the Cantus Musicus choral group
who sang a selection of songs by Schubert and Strauss,
accompanied by Lisa Ho on piano. A selection of
Davidoff cigars from Bluebell Marketing paired with potent
Schladerer schnapps brought the evening to an elegant
end.
