Finnish
Flair
Rain and heavy traffic couldn’t dampen the mood
during Ambassador Lauri Korpinen of Finland’s recent
sit-down
dinner party held at his elegant Ampang Hilir residence.
As part of The Peak’s on-going Ambassador Series
dinners, a select group of friends turned up in their
evening best to enjoy an evening of Finnish-inspired fare,
good
wines and cigars, all prepared to perfection by The Westin
Kuala Lumpur. The menu featured a host of typically
Finnish treats, including Finlandia vodka, salmon and
cod, matched with an eclectic selection of wines. Digestifs
and fine Davidoff cigars by courtesy of Bluebell Marketing
brought the evening to a delightfully languorous close.

Java Jive
It was certainly a night to remember when HE Drs
KPH
Rusdihardjo, Ambassador of Indonesia, and his elegant
wife, Made Darsini Rusdihardjo, teamed up with The
Peak
to host a private dinner at their residence along
Jalan
U-Thant. A select group of guests, dressed in their
traditional evening best, arrived to enjoy a convivial
evening
of Indonesian-inspired fusion cuisine, sparkling
conversation
and enchanting music. A Sundanese ensemble, comprising
of a suling and kecapi, was on hand to provide musical
entertainment, although the latter had to be substituted,
for
logistical reasons, with a guitar. After dinner,
guests were
further enthralled when Made Darsini sportingly
took to the
floor to deliver a splendid rendition of Getuk,
a traditional
Javanese song. It was past midnight when guests
reluctantly
bade goodnight… but only after several more
songs had
been sung, of course. |
