An Icon As Art
The B.zero1 line from Bulgari is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a restyling of its distinctive forms and a quest for innovative materials.
Represented by an unexpected combination of ceramic and pink gold, the new B zero1 stands out for its modern interpretation of a Bulgari classic. This new version presents the two gears at the extremities of the band, with the traditional double Bulgari logo engraved into pink gold, while the central form comes in either black or white ceramic. This combination draws inspiration from the famous Chandra collection, launched in 1994, whose name in Sanskrit means ‘moon’, the soft white glow of which is evoked by the porcelain material. This line of jewels was rendered in white, smooth porcelain moulded into variously-shaped beads and curved elements decorated in relief.
The B.zero1 line welcomes 15 new references, all of which reinforce the tradition of the famous Bulgari icon on the one hand, while asserting an innovative spirit and contemporary style, on the other.
As the collection marks a decade, a new special edition in steel and pink gold has also been created by Anish Kapoor, a contemporary sculptor.

Espresso, Especially
Health-conscious or not, what is not to like in a cup of espresso and a crown of crema. Like roasted turmeric, the colour tells us that the espresso has been well brewed. And with the aroma itself a signal for arousal, the coffee feels richer with every sip. For good measure, the barista will make a pattern on the cream with steamed milk.
But not everyone has the time for baristas and stand in line at the counter with the newspaper in hand to be served a demitasse of espresso. One way to avoid the queue lies in a Caffe Vergnano capsule machine that has been available in the city for a while. The machine has a one litre water tank and heats in a minute, according to the manufacturer.

Nostalgic, Hypnotic
Prada is evoking nostalgia and combining it with modern chic, reworking classic scents. The containers are a fashion statement of vibrant colours and bold patterns, inspired by the dandy days of the Peaock Revolution. The label’s Ephemeral Infusion Collection for summer, includes the first masculine eau de toilette, drawn from classic scents. Two new limited edition scents, Infusion de Tubéreuse and Infusion de Vétiver, have been visually brought to life with flamboyant geometric prints set against floral prints, just the way Miuccia Prada did in this year’s Resort Collection. For men, in Infusion de Vétiver, the mint green, lilac and grey hexagons recall the collars of Nehru jackets. In the Infusion de Tubéreuse for women, pink and purple petals blooming from apple-green leaves signify sexual liberation, according to Prada.
