You might not be able to spend HK$2.1 million on a Christian Dior bag, but once in a while you might need to show your hand. That is when this 38-millimetre Dior Christal Diamonds watch will make the party crowd take notice.

Instead of stressing the mechanical movement like other prestigious watch-makers, Dior makes watches to match its couture creations, with Dior Christal in 16 models in black, white, purple, red and two sizes, 42mm and 38mm. Choices are for the women and their wardrobe.

Dior says Dior Christal represents its invention since 2005, of “a theatre of lights’’ in using hand cut sapphire crystal “inserted in marquetry style on the bezel and bracelet’’.

The distinctive bracelet made of white gold and set with baguette diamonds adds a touch of glam to the wrist.

New decorative ideas are being used by Lladró to enhance the aesthetic appeal of some old porcelain favourites. The pieces including Byzantine busts, fauns, bulls and fish-shaped jars, hark back to another era, but these have now been infused with a more fun character.

The Valencia, Spain, based company’s Happy Seventies line was first launched in the 1970s. Now transformed into more contemporary pieces, the artisans have overcome the challenge of “achieving a balance between the classic soul of the model and the modernism of our time’’ says Lladró.

Meanwhile, another new range, the Parrot Party collection, reproduces the colourful, musical, and intelligent little birds in a detailed form.
