More than 450 guests attended the second Italian Chamber of Commerce Gala Dinner held on November 25 at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong. Themed ‘Glam with a Touch of Glitter’, the programme highlighted a 15-minute fashion show and a silent auction, with proceeds benefitting the Women Helping Women Hong Kong, a non-profit charitable organisation supporting victims of domestic violence and abuse.
A SESQUICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION
The Peninsula Hong Kong threw an extravagant party on November 25 to celebrate its parent company The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels’ 150th anniversary. Over 2,000 guests attended the event. The programme featured a speech by Sir Michael Kadoorie and then a toast lead by CY Leung. Guests roamed the hotel indulging in sumptuous canapés, caviar and desserts from the hotel’s restaurants and bars, while the live band accompanied the festivities all night.
Following a week of inspirational talks delivered by more than 60 top design professionals, the Business of Design Week 2016 concluded on December 2 with a gala dinner held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Designers, politicians and businessmen gathered together for a celebration of global design excellence. During dinner, three winners were presented with the Design For Asian Awards (DFA). Ahn Sang-soo, a Korean typographer and graphic designer, bagged the DFA Lifetime Achievement Award 2016.
