Magical Moment
The Peak, together with Gran Melia Hotel Jakarta, shared some of the magic of the festive season by lighting up a Christmas tree in the hotel lobby and organising a wine charity auction, with proceeds going to an orphanage of the PNIEL Foundation. The event also featured Christmas carols sung by inmates of the orphanage.

My Jakarta - Deborah Iskandar
Why do you life to live in Jakarta?
I find the city a fascinating place to live as there are so many
opportunities despite some contradictions. As such, the capital city
of Jakarta offers me the fine living hub of meeting so many different
types of people such as those professionally engaged as diplomats,
artists, writers and entrepreneurs.
Have you lived in other cities before?
I was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, U.S. It is a great place
to grow up and visit. However, its laid-back atmosphere did not fit in
for a city girl like me. When I first moved to Asia, I lived in Hong
Kong which is still, in my opinion, a striking city to live in,
especially if you’re young and single. But, for those who are married
with children, Jakarta is second to none.
What is your favorite weekend like?
After going through a hectic week, nothing is better than spending time
for some fun activities with my family. We enjoy riding our bikes on Jl
Sudirman on Sundays (some of the lanes are closed to vehicles early in
the day), walking our dogs and playing tennis; I especially like
hanging out by the pool with my kids.
