European Heart, Indian Gestures
Who would have thought that papadum and snapper would be a great match? Such was our opinion, as the Papadum Crusted Snapper’s crust cracked delicately under our teeth to expose the tender flesh within. Dining at Krish turned out to be a sumptuous affair. Chef Matthew Baker, who worked at Hakkasan and Michael Mina in Miami, shows off his impressive rendition of modern European cuisine, spiced up (literally) with Indian touches. “The main thing we are trying to do,” says Baker, “is to make the Indian flavours noticeable, but not overpowering.”
The restaurant, which occupies a former colonial bungalow in Rochester Park, flaunts a chic, annexed al fresco lounge on the second floor, offering a cosy place to while away your Friday evening.
