EVENT: A TASTE OF LUXURY – LAUNCH OF THE PEAK SELECTIONS: GOURMET & TRAVEL

It was a momentous evening on May 6 as we celebrated the addition of a new title to The Peak’s stable of publications – The Peak Selections: Gourmet & Travel. The magazine features the fi nest eateries, the best wines and exclusive gourmet travel adventures around the globe.

Ambassadors, business associates, and food and wine connoisseurs graced the event. Emceed by Vivien Tan, the evening commenced with a video presentation, followed by a welcome address from Gourmet & Travel’s group editor, Joanna Lee-Miller.

The highlight of the evening was the inaugural G Restaurant Awards, which recognised the most outstanding establishments in Singapore. Attendees brought home a copy of Gourmet & Travel, together with a dining treat from Lucas Restaurant at Klapsons, The Boutique Hotel and gourmet chocolates from Jewels Artisan Chocolate. Supporting the event was valued sponsor Klapsons, and chef de cuisine Gabriel Cher, with his delectable carte du jour.

Living It Up

EVENT: COCKTAILS WITH THE PEAK AND HEETON – OFFICIAL SHOWCASE OF ILIV@GRANGE
LOCATION: ILIV@GRANGE SALES GALLERY

iLiv@Grange, Singapore’s fi rst designer residences by yoo inspired by Starck, was offi cially unveiled to a group of privileged guests from The Peak and Heeton on the evening of June 9.

The limited-edition boutique development by Heeton harnesses some of the top global talents in the industry. The unique architecture is the creation of international lifestyle design fi rm Mercurio Design Lab, and the development compound and interior layout are designed by yoo inspired by Starck. The latter is the brainchild of Philippe Starck and John Hitchcox – the world’s most celebrated designer and the world’s most visionary property entrepreneur respectively.

Guests received a glimpse into the apartments and luxurious facilities through an animation video. They were also treated to two special performances on a harp and stringed instruments while partaking of cocktails and canapes.

The night was enjoyed by all, in the company of good food and good friends.


Love Boat

EVENT: ASIA BOATING AWARDS 2010
LOCATION: GOLD COAST YACHT AND COUNTRY CLUB, HONG KONG

The Peak and Icon were offi cial media partners of the sixth edition of the Asia Boating Awards, held for the fi rst time in Hong Kong on May 8. The event coincided with the three-day Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show.

Underlining the importance of the event and of the region in general, senior representatives from Princess Yachts, Leopard Catamarans, Azimut, Oyster Marine, Pershing, Oceanco and Marquis Yachts were in attendance.

Dual recognitions went to the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club – the award for Asian Yacht Club of the Year, and Asian Regatta of the Year for the 2010 Rolex South China Sea Race, which the club staged. The judges agreed that the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club had to be recognised for its prominent role in helping to bring the Louis Vuitton Trophy Series to Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour.

Other notable wins from around the region included Phuket, Thailand, which won the hotly contested Asian Maritime Capital of the Year award, while the Marina at Keppel Bay in Singapore was voted Best Asian Marina of the Year.
