HE Satu Mattila, Ambassador of Finland, together with Jonathan Wyatt and Amos Mok, were the three selected recipients presented with a watch from each of the collections.

Guests took home a unique Suunto door gift at the end of the evening.

A Step Ahead

EVENT: THE LUXURY OF TIME, HOSTED BY THE PEAK AND ICON
LOCATION: JING RESTAURANT, ONE FULLERTON

With the launch of two of the most-anticipated watch annuals in horological circles — Icon Moments and The Peak Selections: Timepieces — came an evening of fine dining among industry partners at one of Singapore’s premier waterfront locations.

Held at Jing at One Fullerton, the dinner was jointly hosted by Icon and The Peak, the first such event in the history of both publications. The Luxury of Time dinner celebrates the continuing initiative in tapping audiences of the two magazines, the Mandarin-speaking society elite and corporate leaders.

In attendance were advertisers and valued supporters of both watch annuals, including representatives from luxury brands such as Piaget, Jaeger- LeCoultre, Chanel and Breguet. Group editor-in-chief, Caroline Ngui, and managing director of SPH Magazines, Dennis Pua, along with the editorial and sales team from Icon and The Peak, mingled with guests. Invitees were greeted with champagne at the restaurant’s open-air terrace overlooking the Singapore River and the upcoming Marina Bay Sands development.

Group editor Rachel Tan extended a warm welcome to guests with a speech that provided a retrospective of the year gone by, describing the decision to “stand fast to the basics of quality and consistency.” The stage was set for another year of fruitful collaboration as she reaffirmed the aim of Icon Moments and The Peak Selection: Timepieces — to "give a platform to the exquisitely inspired, and the exceptionally crafted."

The menu of haute-nouveau Chinese cuisine was presided over by acclaimed chef Yong Bing Ngen of New Majestic Restaurant fame. Throughout the evening, guests were entertained by violinist Eileen Chai who put a classical spin on familiar pop standards.
