EVENT: THE ASIA PACIFIC ENTREPRENEURSHIP AWARDS 2009

In an emotionally charged night, 44 Singaporean entrepreneurs received the most coveted titles in the region for entrepreneurship at the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards 2009 (APEA2009), organised by Enterprise Asia, a regional NGO promoting entrepreneurship.

Yoa Hsiao Tung, 68, executive chairman of Hi-P International won the Entrepreneur of the Year 2009. Dato’ Dr Jennie Tay, co-founder & executive vice chairman of The Hour Glass, emerged as Woman Entrepreneur of Year 2009. Young Entrepreneur of the Year was ThaiExpress’ Ivan Lee, who grew his chain of restaurants into a regional powerhouse with 76 restaurants in nine countries across Asia.

Other winners of the night included Richard Ong of Straits Asia Resources Ltd for an Outstanding Entrepreneur Award and Sky Chiew, co-founder & CEO of SWJ International (Donut Empire) in the Most Promising Entrepreneur category.

EVENT: HANSGROHE GOLF INVITATIONAL 2009, ORGANISED BY THE PEAK
LOCATION: TANAH MERAH COUNTRY CLUB, GARDEN COURSE

The annual Hansgrohe Golf Invitational 2009, organised by The Peak, was back in full swing this year and was well attended by the many specially invited guests from both Singapore and overseas.

They were treated to a selection of local delights over a casual lunch buffet as they prepped themselves with the spirit of competition and camaraderie for the friendly match and networked with fellow golfers. Two Hole-in-One prizes — a Jaguar XF 3.0L Luxury and a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Grande Taille — and over 40 attractive prizes by Hansgrohe, Alila Hotels & Resorts, Braun Buffel , Conrad Centennial Singapore , Golf Birdies & Eagles, Hallmark Design Collection, Inter Rice Asia, Johnnie Walker, Molton Brown London, Tempur and Xtra Designs awaited them.

The event culminated with a sumptuous eight-course dinner and the much anticipated prize presentation and lucky draws ceremony. All guests also went home with a Hansgrohe Puravida Travel Shower each. Perfect weather conditions, together with great company and prizes, made the event a memorable one for everyone.
